The virtual book launch Entanglements of Life with the Law: Precarity and Justice in London’s Magistrates’ Courts by Prof. John R. Campbell will take place on December 21, 4.30 pm (CET).
Prof. John R. Campbell has reviewed the literature on Cultural Expertise looking at the contribution of cultural experts, lawyers and the courts in Western Europe and North America. The paper also examines how British barristers use ‘experts’ to litigate, and it analyses cases listed on Bailii – the British and Irish Legal Institute – Database to assess the contribution of Cultural Expertise and other types of expert evidence.
The event has been organised in association with the CHAD – Centre of History and Anthropology of Law, University of Paris Nanterre.
